On campus Bodø and Levanger test stations are available.

Self-testing on campus

If you are studying in Bodø or Levanger, you can easily test yourself for chlamydia and gonorrhoea at the self-testing stations located in designated campus restrooms.

In most cases, chlamydia and gonorrhoea do not cause any symptoms. This means you may have an infection without knowing it. The only way to know for sure is to get tested.

Find a test station and see how to do it here:

The service is free of charge. You perform the test yourself and are responsible for following the instructions carefully to ensure an accurate result. The same sample is tested for both chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

At our other campuses, you can get tested at your municipality's Youth Health Clinic.

When should you get tested?

We recommend that anyone who has had unprotected sex with a new partner gets tested for chlamydia and gonorrhoea. We also recommend getting tested if you experience one or more symptoms of either infection.

Please note that you should wait 14 days after unprotected sex before taking a test. If you test negative before 14 days have passed, we recommend taking another test after the 14-day period to ensure an accurate result.

Where to find free condoms

Condoms protect against chlamydia and gonorrhoea when used correctly and throughout the entire sexual encounter. It is just as important to use condoms during vaginal and anal sex as it is during oral sex. Use a condom with all new sexual partners (Helsenorge.no).

Free condoms are available on all campuses. Look for them in several toilets, or contact the student counsellor on your campus.

You can also order free condoms to be delivered to your mailbox through Gratiskondomer.no.
