Studentinord arranges crash-courses, trips and other activities for students. This is to make students find themselves in good company and connect with other students outside of classes. In addition, we especially want new students to have the best chances of success in their examinations during their first semester.
Examples of such courses: crash course in economics, cooking and study techniques.
Examples of other activities: guided bus tour to Saltstraumen - the world's strongest maelstrom, "67 Degrees North" - big treasure hunt for students, Kabooom! - Dinner together and play for student parents and their children.
Every autumn and winter arranges Studentinord in cooperation with International Office at North university activities and tours for students. In the autumn the Arctic Escape is added to "Mentor Period", and activities can be both exciting and challenging. It's the opportunity to get to know other students, and to get to know the nature surrounding Bodo and see what Bodø has to offer. Example of events organized by the Arctic Escape: Long weekend in Lofoten, Caving, Rib-trip to Salstraumen, hike to Keiservarden - Bodø's most famous viewpoint, Fishing with fishing boats, Searafting, Trip to Svartisen - glacier, sailing courses, canoeing, ski lessons, and so on.
