Our university chaplain offers counselling for students and staff, and offers activities that support students in practicing their faith or philosophy.

Counselling

A lot goes on in student life. You are on your own, having new experiences, meeting new people, learning and growing as a human being. Perhaps you see yourself, your life and story, with fresh eyes? No matter what you are facing, it’s good to have someone to talk to. The university chaplain is here for you.

The university chaplain is a professional counsellor, with experience in talking about faith, meaning and existential questions. You can talk about anything that is going on in your life – nothing is too big or too small.

  • Interfaith service – you are welcome, regardless of faith or philosophy.
  • Focus on you – what is important to you, is always most important.
  • Free – no costs for students or staff.
  • Confidentiality – what you share, stays here.
  • No chart – the chaplain is not a medical professional and does not chart.
  • Easy access – you book directly online.
  • Flexible sessions – you can book a session in the office, online or on the phone. We can even meet for a walk on campus if you prefer.
  • Further support – if you need more or different support, the chaplain will help you find the right fit.

The university chaplain has a physical office on campus in Bodø, and is available online for students at all campuses.

Faith and life stance as a student

Students can get help and support to organize activities with an existential, faith- or life stance related theme. Reach out to the university chaplain for more information.

The university chaplain can also help you get in touch with local people from your own faith community and help you find gatherings that suit you.

Quiet Room

Some campuses have a quiet room for meditation and prayer. These spaces are well suited for a break and a breath during the day. They are set up to be inclusive and comfortable for all who use them. If you have ideas for how to develop the spaces further, the university chaplain will collaborate with you.

The quiet rooms are for everyone. Please be mindful of each other, keep the space tidy and respect others.

See directions to the quiet room in Bodø on Mazemap.
